Light-sheet, besselbeam/lattice beam microscopy

With a besselbeam or a lattice light sheet, a thin light-sheet can be made to illuminate a microscopic sample sideways. In this case the signal can be recorded on a very sensitive camera, which improved the speed with a factor of 5-10 compared to a confocal microscope. The technique  is sometimes used in combination with single molecule imaging. A special sample preparation is needed to fit the sample between the 2 perpendicular lenses used. One lense for the lightsheet, the other lense for imaging. No pinhole is needed.
