MSc Course (October 7-11, 2024)
This course is organised in collaboration with the Infection & Immunity, Neuroscience and Molecular Medicine research master schools. The course is open for master students of Infection & Immunity, Neuroscience and Molecular Medicine research master schools (ECTS 1.8).
The one week course consists of lectures in the morning and hands-on practical sessions in the afternoon. The practical exercises at the confocal microscopes are performed in groups of max. 5 participants.
Topics
- Basal microscopy, Confocal microscopy, GFP and live cell imaging, Fluorescent recovery after photobleaching (FRAP)
- Fluorescent resonance energy transfer (FRET)
- Super resolution (SIM/STED, single molecule localization (PALM/STORM))
- Image analysis
The course will be concluded with groups of students giving a presentation of the results from one of the course topics.
